Ben Vorlich - Arrochar

Rising steeply above the shores of Loch Lomond, Ben Vorlich is one of the southern sentinels of the Highlands. Its name means Hill of the Bay, and at 943 metres it commands a striking position, looking both south across the lowlands and north into the heart of Scotland. The mountain is known for its long, grassy ridges and broad summit, which make it a rewarding climb despite its steep approach.

From the top, walkers are treated to sweeping views over Loch Lomond, the Firth of Clyde, and the jagged outlines of neighbouring peaks like The Cobbler, Beinn Narnain, and Beinn Ime. Ben Vorlich’s position at the edge of the Highlands has made it a natural landmark for centuries — a hill that feels both accessible and dramatic, bridging the lowland valleys with the wild mountains beyond.
