Carn a’ Chlamain is a remote Munro in the Forest of Atholl, known for its conical, bouldery summit rising above wide moorland and corries. Most walkers approach through Glen Tilt, often combining cycling along estate tracks with the final climb on foot. The mountain’s name translates from Gaelic as “Hill of the Kite,” reflecting the bird of prey often seen in the area. Its setting makes it a rewarding outing, with expansive views across the Grampians and nearby peaks such as Beinn Dearg and Carn an Righ.
